Here is a 'You're Moving' card I made, awhile back, with some of the new SU! colors.

This card is a simple card I made for my grandparents to let them know I'm thinking about them.

Here are our Christmas cards for this year. DD helped with the cards this year. She was so excited. If you are on our mailing list, they will be in your mailbox within the next week or so. Merry Christmas!

November 8, 2009

It's been a long time since I've posted any cards. Here is a card set I made for my Dad as a birthday present. He is a professional photographer and he wanted some cards to send out to a few of his clients. I had fun designing and making these cards. I used 4 different SU! stamp sets to bring it all together - Heartfelt Thanks, Berry Christmas, Puns from the Past, and Sincere Salutations. I also used one non-SU! sentiment stamp for the inside sentiment.

The first picture is the outside of the card. I used Garden Green, Real Red, and Whisper White papers. The second picture is the inside. There is a spot to put business cards at the top half of the inside and a sentiment on the bottom half of the inside.

When I got back from Chicago, my box of SU! goodies were waiting for me. I quickly realized I needed to make a card for both my Mom and Sister-in-law since we were celebrating their birthdays this past weekend. So, I dug into my new supplies and here is what I came up with. I think they turned out pretty good considering I only had a couple hours from concept to fruition.

I did a few birthday cards last week.  I wanted to use my Cricut but ended up using my Cuttlebug instead.  I used the Happy Birthday, Swiss Dots, and D'vine Swirls embossing folders.  I really need to learn how to ink the embossed images without getting ink all over the paper.  I'd like a cleaner look, but think these turned out okay.  My brother gave me a great compliment (one of the cards was for  him).  He said he loves getting my handmade creations because he knows how much thought and caring goes into making each one.  That was the best compliment ever!!!  I appreciated it so much.  :-)

I have been busy photographing all my card creations to place here on the website.  Some are duplicates of what I have posted before, but most are not.  Enjoy looking!  Please feel free to scraplift (if any are even worthy) - I live off of this technique myself - but do not use any photos as your own.  All photos are copyrighted.  Thanks!

Birthday Cards

I wanted to make a masculine bday card with glitter - if that's even possible and this was the result.  I love DCWV glitter paper!!

Here are some other birthday cards.  I finally figured out the simplest of techniques in order to make a card using black paper.  I was always frustrated because I would have to use white or silver ink to stamp the message and then would have to use a white or silver pen to sign the card.  I finally just took some plain old printer paper, cut it approx. 1/4" smaller than the card and placed it inside the card.  I was able to stamp the sentiment in black ink and sign with a regular pen.  It was definitely a  should-a had a V-8 moment.

The brown and coral colored card below has some added detail to it. Not only did I use the two-step stamping technique, but the stamped tag at the top is actually stamped on the inside of the card and the see through tag-window is punched on the front of the card.

I made this card for my friend Kim. I totally scraplifted the template from the Fall 2008 SU! catalog. As you can see, the stamp on the inside didn't turn out so great. I usually make a duplicate card to keep for myself and it's a good thing. The one given to her looked much nicer on the inside.

This is why I keep a card for myself. I use it as a template and physically have it there for measurements and such. I can then just change the colors, papers, and embellishments for a whole new card!

This is a spinner card. I love spinner cards! My friend Darlene was a SU! demo and she taught us how to do this at one of our SU! club meetings. She always had cool stuff to teach us.

These cards were made with my Cricut and Cuttlebug:

Christmas Cards

Hey-Hey!  I didn't scraplift these.  I actually came up with these on my own.  Imagine that.  HaHa!  I did the first one and hubby thought it wasn't very Christmas-y so I changed the colors to green and red.  He liked that one much better.  TAC stamps were used for this card.

I used heat embossing for these next cards.  Again, I came up with one template but wasn't crazy about it so I ended up going with the second one.  The sentiment inside is the same sentiment I've used every year since I started making cards.  I'm sure our friends and family are saying "Jeez - get a new sentiment stamp already".  LOL!

We created this 'Santa Suit' card at one of our SU! club meetings. My cousin actually made this for her family's Christmas cards that year.

Below are our main Christmas cards for 2008.  I didn't make enough which is why I had to make a few of the ones below this picture.  I made these using my Cricut machine.  I love this machine!!  Of course, with both projects, I used stickles - lots and lots of stickles!

I plan on doing these for all our cards next year.  I have to do about 60 every year.  Good thing making these is therapeutic!  I made these using the Cuttlebug machine and the lace tree embossing folder.

Wow.  If you've made it this far... thanks!!  There is still more to come...

Baby Cards

I made these cards for some friends.  I love the little baby from this stamp set.  It is so cute!!

Anniversary Cards

I really like the simplicity of these cards. I wonder, though, why they take so darn long when they look so simplistic. I think I can complicate the simplest of tasks... LOL! I actually used my markers to color this stamp image so I could use multiple colors on the image.

Friendship Cards

The friendship card below is a spinner card. Have I mentioned that I love these kind of cards?

This friendship card is actually a thank you card also. I used the same tag technique I mentioned in the birthday card section. When you open the card there is a little stamped image that says 'Thank You' but you can't see it when the card is closed. I used versamark ink and embossing glitter and heat embossed the flowers on the green strip.

Okay, this is one of my all-time favorite cards! It is a flip card. I made these for a card swap. Thank goodness I only had to do 12 of them - or should I say, Oh my goodness, I had to do 12 of them! LOL! I really do put a lot of pressure on myself when it really isn't necessary. I was so happy with these when they were done. They turned out just like I wanted them to. The front has a pre-printed sentiment on it and stamped images, the back just has stamped images and space for a hand-written sentiment.

Thank You Cards

Does the pink one look familiar? It's just like one of my birthday cards except with flowers and a thank you sentiment. The 2nd card was made using the SU! Alphabet Soup stamp set and my Cricut. I used the Mini Monograms cartridge for the U and the green square behind it.

Here is a simple thank you card... I used the heat embossing technique and it has the same thank you sentiment as the pink card above.

I totally scraplifted the red card straight from the SU! catalog.  That catalog sure is chalk-full of great ideas.  The second card I created on my own.  It took some time with all the layering and I realized I need the ticket corner punch from SU! as it took me forever to cut the edges around both layers of the thank you sentiment.

Here is a little thank you tag I made to throw into the orders of crafty things I sold on ebay.  Just a little something...

But Wait! There's More...

Okay, not much more, bt here are some miscellaneous cards I've done. Sympathy, Miss You, Just Because...

January 10, 2009

I finally got around to loading the pics of some of the Christmas presents I made. I made a 10-card greeting card set. I made 6 sets and we gave them to some of our family for Christmas.

The card set consisted of:

2 Thank You

2 Birthday (1 feminine, 1 masculine)

1 Miss you

1 Thinking of You

1 Happy Anniversary

1 Get Well Soon

1 Sympathy

1 Just Because - this one had no saying on it, just butterflies and flowers. I figured it could be used for whatever occasion the sender wanted to use it for.

Here was my first ever Cricut Card.  I made it for my husband's uncle who was turning 60 about 7 months ago.  It was a lot of fun to make.  The inside says "Turning 60? You're advanced for your age - Oak trees in their sixties just start turning nutty.  Happy Birthday!"  See the Cricut page for details.

As some of you will probably be able to spot right away, I love Stampin' Up! (SU!) paper, stamps, and inks. I love the quality of SU!'s paper - it can't be beat.  I have finally become a SU! demonstrator.  If you have any questions, please feel free to contact me.

Thanks for looking!
